Mate Music Entertainment ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) of South Africa.

1. Information We Collect

We collect personal information you voluntarily provide through forms on our website, including:

• Name, email address and links submitted via our demo submission form.
• Email address submitted to our newsletter ("Inner Circle").
• Booking, press and general enquiries sent to our published email addresses.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To review demo submissions and respond to artists.
• To send newsletter updates about releases, events and label news.
• To respond to booking, licensing and press enquiries.

3. Lawful Basis

We process your personal information on the basis of your consent (POPIA Section 11(1)(a)) and where necessary for the conclusion or performance of a contract with you.

4. Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with vetted service providers (e.g. hosting, email and database providers) acting as operators under POPIA, and only as required by law.

5. Data Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and access-controlled storage.

6. Retention

We retain demo submissions for up to 24 months and newsletter records until you unsubscribe. You may request earlier deletion at any time.

7. Your Rights

Under POPIA you have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal information, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).
