Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website operated by Mate Music Entertainment ("we", "us"). By accessing the site you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Use of the Site
You may use the site for lawful personal and informational purposes. You may not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to any part of the service.
2. Demo Submissions
By submitting a demo through our submission form you confirm that (a) you are the rights-holder or authorised representative of the work, and (b) you grant us a non-exclusive licence to listen to and internally review the submission for A&R purposes. We make no guarantee of response, signing, or release.
3. Intellectual Property
All site content, including the Mate Music Entertainment name, logo, and master recordings, are owned by us or our licensors and protected by South African and international copyright law. No content may be reproduced, distributed, sampled, or used commercially without prior written consent.
4. Newsletter
Subscribing to our newsletter is voluntary. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.
5. Store, Payments & Subscriptions
Our store offers one-time digital products and recurring subscriptions (including the "Fan Membership"). Prices are shown at checkout in the applicable currency and are inclusive of any taxes calculated by our payment provider.
- Merchant of Record. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"). Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries relating to billing and handles returns.
- Payment terms. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by the Paddle Checkout Buyer Terms, which apply to your purchase in addition to these Terms.
- Subscriptions. Recurring memberships renew automatically at the interval shown at checkout until cancelled. You may cancel your subscription at any time via paddle.net or by contacting us; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and access continues until then.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Paddle in accordance with our Refund Policy.
6. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to paid products, subscriptions or the site (in whole or part) for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, suspected fraud or abuse, security risk, or repeated policy violations. Where a subscription is terminated by us without cause, any unused prepaid period will be refunded on a pro-rata basis via Paddle.
7. Third-Party Links
The site links to third-party services (e.g. Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud). We are not responsible for the content, terms or privacy practices of those services.
8. Disclaimer
The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any loss arising from your use of the site.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
